Poem - CONSUMMATION

CONSUMMATION

Here I lie in wait for you - descend from high into my arms.

Do you ever think about me? Do you even know I exist?

You, holy being, who lives leagues above me. Unobtainable, incomprehensible.

I want to know you greater than anyone else, see you inside and out.

Did it hurt when you fell from heaven? A cliché line.

I press my lips against you, taste your flesh, savor every moment.

You give me all you have, but it's not enough.

It's never enough, is it? I'm so alone down here, so hungry.

Here I lie in wait for the next angel to fall from heaven.
